Heung joh chow (2003) (Chinese: Cantonese)

                      Dircetors : Johnnie To , Ka-Fai Wai
                      Genre      : Romance
Cast        :  Takeshi Kaneshiro, Gigi Leung and Edmund Chen

'Heung joh chow'(Turn Left Turn Right) is a Chinese language movie released in year 2003.The story of this movie is based on a book named 'A chance of Sunshine'.When i started watching this film, what i had in  mind was some of the best Korean and Bollywood romantic movies. But this movie has predictable plot with some unpredictable twists which is obvious but you will never feel like to stop watching this.It is the first chinese language-Asian film ever from Warner Brothers.
Movie tells the story of a violinist (Gigi Leung) and a translator (Takeshi Kaneshiro), who are destined to be together but because of some twist of situations they never find each other..It's fun to watch how everything is connected but still disconnected. This movie is worth a watch and it has some really good music tracks..So in mini-movie review's opinion it's worth a watch..

Hugo (2011) (English)

                 Director : Martin Scorsese
                 Genre    : Adventure, Drama, Family
Cast      : Asa Butterfield, Chloe Grace Mortez,Christopher Lee,
Ben Kingsley,Emily Mortimer,Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat fame) and
                               Jude Law.

I had no expectations about this movie when i started watching it.I just wanted to watch it because it was an Oscar nominated(10 nominations!!!) movie. And i had no idea about the awesome star cast. And i didn't knew this movie was produced by none other than Johny Depp the Captain Jack Sparrow..!!!.
Hugo also known as The Invention of Hugo Cabret in some countries is the story of a boy named Hugo who tries to fix a machine to find out what message his father left for him. This movie unwraps the wonderful world of machines and history of movie making. It's based on a book called The Invention of Hugo Cabret Written by  Brian Selznick and it follows the history of motion pictures, that is cinema's quite closely. If you ever read a book about Industrial Light & Magic you will know what you are seeing.
This is one of the best movie came out in 2011.It is still not yet released in some countries.Wait for the release and watch it in 3D.James Cameron the director of  the 3D wonder Avatar told this movie (Hugo) did the best use of 3D technology. So try to watch it in 3D if possible..And it's a must watch movie we strongly recommend.

Changeling (2008) (English)

                   Director : Clint Eastwood
                   Genre    : Drama, Mystery, Thriller
Cast      : Angelina Jolie, Colm Feore and Amy Ryan

Angelina Jolie's screen image is something i really love and admire. She always jumps from buildings to buildings, runs on the top of speeding trucks, drive around fastest vehicles through a rain of gunshots. She is the only actress in the history of Hollywood who rejected a James Bond movie's leading lady role and asked if she can play the title character James Bond...!!!..It's good to see her trying different roles like this movie here.
In this Clint Eastwood directed (oh yeah, you read it right..Clint Eastwood the cowboy) 2008 movie 'Changeling' which is based on true events actually happened at 1928, Angelina Jolie plays the role of a mother who fights with LAPD to prove that her lost-and-found son is actually an impostor, not her real son.LAPD on the other hand tries to cover up their mistake by troubling her. Will she find her son?..Will the world ever come to know that her side is right??..To know that you have to watch this awesome mysterious thriller drama.
This is Angelina Jolie's one of the best character and a must watch movie. And the direction is also really good.We strongly recommend this movie,go watch it.

Immortals (2011) (English) (Mini Review)

           Director : Tarsem Singh
           Genre    : Fantasy, Action, Drama
Cast       : Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, John Hurt and Freida Pinto

When you see the words 'From the producers of 300' on a movie's poster, you expect a lot.But what if you see (literally) the same kind of flick with super stylishly choreographed fights and awesome use of computer generated imagery...?
This fantasy movie named 'Immortals' is loosely based on Greek mythology and was badly panned by many critics for boring story telling. And yes they are right. The only and only good thing in this movie is CG.Computer generated sets and some visual effects are really good and amazing in some scenes. The movie's look and feel reminds you of  '300' and even the climax strongly takes you back to the '300' memories.I will suggest you to avoid this movie on theaters and watch it when it comes on a DVD.

The Ides Of March (2011) (English) (Mini Review)

      Director : George Clooney
      Genre    : Drama
Cast      : Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti and George Clooney

George Clooney is one of the most reputed actor of Hollywood. And when you hear he is directing a movie, you expect a lot.I'm not going to say this is a bad movie and i'm not going to say this is a good movie either. But it fell a bit short of my expectation. He could have been made it a better political thriller instead of a political drama. But thank god it's not that serious movie just like some other movies which has political themes.
'The Ides Of March' written(screen play) and directed by George Clooney tells the story of Morris(George himself) who runs for presidential election in United States Of America and his deputy campaign manager Steven Meyers(Ryan Gosling).
Movie has some really good performances by Ryan gosling and Paul Giamatti. Movie's screen play is adapted from Willimon's 2008 play Farragut North. There are many unclear scenes and moments in the movie in which the audience has to guess what just happened.Sadly that includes the climax.it might be just worth a watch for some people though.

The Help (2011) (English) (Mini Review)

                                 Director : Tate Taylor
                                 Genre    : Drama
Cast      :  Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer

'the Help' is based on a novel written by Kathryn Stockett at the same name. This movie is currently nominated for Oscar/Academy awards in 3 categories.Best picture, best actress, best supporting actress(2 nominations). Before telling it is a must watch movie,we would like to tell you it is not an entertainer. It is a drama, but not a boring one like 'the social network'.And if you are a racialist, you better stop reading right now and leave this site.In one popular web site i saw some guys talking bad about this movie just because this movie is made on Afro-American people.I feel pity about those b@$+@rd$...
This movie is about a young white woman journalist who decides to write a controversial book from the point of view of maids(also known as 'help') during the civil rights time(1960s) of America. And to expose the racism those poor maids faced while working for white families.
This movie is a must watch if you like drama genre very much. There are scenes which makes you speechless.Director who adapted the story from the book did his best to show the suppressed emotions of the characters. All the actresses who portrayed the main characters acted really well. One of them Octavia Spencer won the golden globe award for best supporting actress role in this movie. We wish this movie will win some in Oscar too.
